Slap + Giggle Comedy
Showcasing some of London's best and up-and-coming comedic talent making for a great weekday night out.
LGBTQ+ Pitch Your Friend - IRL Dating Night
Friends pitch their single LGBTQ+ friends on stage to an audience of singles. A dating event in London like no other. Who would you pitch?
Summer isn't over yet. This could be your late-summer meet cute, because the apps just aren’t providing. Join us at The London Art Bar for an IRL dating experience like no other - this time, all for the LGBTQ+ community.
Pitch Your Friend (LGBTQ+) follows the same format as our regular events, but all of the people being pitched will be LGBTQ+. Whether you're gay, bi, lesbian, trans, queer or anywhere on the spectrum, if you're single and want your friend to make the case for you to a room full of wonderful people, this is your night.
Your pitcher doesn't have to be LGBTQ+ themselves - a straight or cis friend who knows you better than anyone is more than welcome to take the mic for you. And if you want to bring a straight friend along for moral support as an audience member, they're warmly welcome too.
If you're pitching: create a 3-5 minute slide deck that shows off all the best things about your friend and take to the mic. You might just be playing cupid!
We'll have time for mingling in the break and after the pitches — plenty of time to work your charm if someone catches your eye.
Not pitching? There are plenty of audience spots and you'll still get to join in with the mingling.
Hosted by Gareth, who also runs the LGBTQ+ Meetup group at The London Art Bar — now in its fourth year.
Doors open at 7PM, presentations from 8PM.
Key info for pitchers: Please arrive close to 7PM so we can run through the tech. Slides in Google Slides or PowerPoint format — please send to hello@garethlewis.co no later than 10PM the day before. Please be mindful of your friend's privacy when making your presentation. Questions or accessibility needs? hello@garethlewis.co

Fundraiser for Venezuela
Earlier this year, a series of devastating earthquakes struck Venezuela, a country already facing profound economic and political challenges. The immediate rescue operation may be over, but the aftermath is only beginning. Families have lost their homes, their livelihoods, and access to basic necessities. The road to recovery will be long.
Join us at The London Art Bar for a fundraising evening in aid of the Disasters Emergency Committee's Venezuela Earthquake Appeal.
All net proceeds go directly to the DEC Venezuela Earthquake Appeal:
£10 provides essential hygiene supplies to a family to prevent illness
£50 provides emergency food support to two families for a week
£100 provides shelter kits for six families whose homes have been destroyed
More details on the evening's programme coming soon — but expect warmth, good company, and a genuine sense of purpose.
Get your tickets at below, or to get involved contact hello@garethlewis.co
Founders & Freelancers Meetup
Whether you're building a startup, freelancing, running a side hustle, starting a charity, or just doing something ambitious outside of conventional employment, this group is for you.
Being an entrepreneur or freelancer can be a lonely experience. You've got big decisions to make, have to keep the confidence of your clients and investors, and sometimes pretend everything is okay on LinkedIn when you're stressed out of your mind. This is a space where you don't have to do that.
The format is deliberately relaxed: come along, grab a drink, meet some interesting people. There'll be open networking, a business card bowl to make sure you leave with at least one new meaningful connection, and space for anyone who wants to share a current challenge or screw-up.
7:00PM — doors open, drop your card in the bowl, drinks and open networking 8:00PM — optional: share a current challenge or screw-up with the group (sign up at the door). Gareth will share something to get the ball rolling 8:20PM — networking continues until 9PM
Monthly at The London Art Bar. Limited to 50 spots.
Tickets are £5 - a small commitment that goes a long way. In our experience, people who've invested even a little tend to actually show up, which means better conversations for everyone. Concession tickets are available for those who need them. Just drop us a line at hello@garethlewis.co.
This is the first event in what we hope becomes something really worthwhile. Help us shape what this becomes!
Hosted by Gareth Lewis, founder of Gareth Lewis Events, and co-founder of PopUp Painting and The London Art Bar. Questions? hello@garethlewis.co

Stitch Resist Tie Dye Workshop
Craft has always been part of my life, but it became something deeper when I found myself working in a corporate job and craving a creative outlet. Making time to create became my escape, a way to switch off, reset and reconnect with something tangible. Now, I’m passionate about helping others rediscover what craft can do for them. It’s not just about making something, it’s about switching off, experimenting, surprising yourself and walking away with a real sense of pride.
While travelling in Yunnan, I learned a traditional tie dye technique with a history stretching back centuries. In this region, dyeing methods have been passed down through generations, rooted in careful craftsmanship and cultural identity. It completely changed how I saw textile craft. The patterns were intricate, intentional, and beautifully refined, a world away from the messy versions many of us tried as kids.
In my workshops, I create space for people to explore their creativity in a relaxed, social way. The beauty of tie dye is that no two pieces are ever the same. Each person leaves with something completely one of a kind. It’s stylish, modern and uniquely yours.

Now in our fourth year, our meet-ups are all about meeting new people, making friends, and having a good time in a queer-friendly space.
The meet-ups have a very relaxed vibe with background music at just the right volume for chatting to people! There are also some boardgames on the shelves if people fancy playing them. Feel free to bring your own!
I (Gareth) try my best to greet everybody, but this is of course easier at the beginning of the event. If you are ever stuck, say hello to our friendly bar team who can point you in my direction.
Come by yourself or bring a friend :)
The Girlies Guide : Girlie Paint Night!
Girlies Paint Night
Paint, sip and meet new girlies 🎨🍷
Join us for a cosy painting night where you can get creative, have a drink and meet a whole group of girls who also came solo.
No experience needed, this isn’t about being good at art. It’s about having fun, trying something new and chatting while you do it. We’ll provide everything you need, you just show up!
It’s an easy, low pressure way to make new friends and do something a bit different.
Spaces are limited.
