Hiring: Bar & Events Supervisor
We are excited to announce a new opportunity has arisen at The London Art Bar in Holborn. We are looking to hire a new Bar and Events Supervisor, who can work across front of house to deliver an excellent customer experience.
The London Art Bar is an arts and entertainment venue based in central London between Chancery Lane and Holborn! We run art workshops throughout the week, as well as private events and venue hires. In addition we run film and tv screenings, LGBTQIA+ Meet-ups, dating events and lots more!
Flexibility is key to our business, and hours will be in the region of 15 hours per week in a shift pattern, usually Wednesday-Sunday. Events + workshops make up the majority of our activity, so availability across evenings and weekends is essential.
The role will include:
Bartending and general food and beverage preparation and service
Opening and closing of the venue (key holding)
Events support and leadership, including set up, clean down, customer interaction and hands on support for the wider events team
Preparing, cleaning and maintaining food and beverage service areas in accordance with health and safety and food hygiene requirements
Food and beverage stock control, including supporting bar manager with supplies management and deliveries
Undertaking event stock room management, ensuring stock levels are maintained and that kit is ready for use
Ensuring upkeep and cleanliness of events space during the day
Any other duties around maintaining and running of the bar space
Applicants will have experience of working in a food and beverage/hospitality setting, and will be able to demonstrate:
Experience working in a bar/restaurant setting, including classic cocktail knowledge
Awareness of relevant health and safety and legal requirements for the operation of a food and beverage establishment
A genuine desire to provide the best customer experience, constantly reviewing and evolving performance
An ability to work calmly under pressure and be able to multitask
Clear and effective communication skills
The ability to work well in in a team as well as lead shifts
A can-do and solution-focused attitude
In addition the ideal applicant will demonstrate:
Relevant qualifications in hospitality and food hygiene/safety
An interest in events and the creative industries
Knowledge and experience of additional bar service, including cocktail making and barista service
This role will report to the Manager of The London Art Bar. Pay is at £15 per hour , and will initially be on a contracted (self employed) basis.
