The London Art Bar and PopUp Painting’s next chapter

PopUp Painting is now entering its 13th year, with The London Art Bar turning 5 this summer. We’ve painted with 100,000 people over the years; with thousands more through our doors for other events. It has been a real pleasure to see people’s smiling faces and read the positive feedback from our guests after thousands of expertly delivered events by our great team.

We are proud to have worked with over 100 artists and event professionals, across more than 100 venues in 10 cities, and to be recognised as the founders and leaders of the sip & paint industry in the UK.

Like many businesses, we have navigated our share of challenges over the years: from COVID and lockdowns, to a rapidly changing events landscape. We are incredible proud of getting to this point with the support of our team.  We believe that this is the right time to pass on the baton, and begin an exciting new chapter for PopUp Painting and The London Art Bar.

Most important to us in this process has been ensuring continuity,  protecting as many jobs as possible, and preserving the legacy of PopUp Painting and The London Art Bar. We are therefore pleased to share with you that from 1 April 2026 PopUp Painting and The London Art Bar brands have been taken over by Collab Arts Collective run by Sophie Pywell.

You may know Sophie in her role as a PopUp Painting artist and through her work running the London Art Bar over the past year. She has the ideas and energy to take PopUp Painting and The London Art Bar to the next level.

We wish her all the best in her mission to make the LAB the creative hub of London, growing the events and offerings. Sophie intends to build on the LAB’s successes: continuing our sip & paint events, meetups and other special events, and doing more to platform and support emerging artists.
